Joe Rosson: Going back and forth about rocking chair

Recently I found a rocker in the trash. The wood had been refinished and I am about to get it reupholstered. I was wondering if you would know any history about this particular style of rocker. I love this rocker and think it is beautiful; it is also very comfortable. Any information as to age and origin would be greatly appreciated.
